Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Juan Bautista Alberdi appears among flowers, Spanish bank text and a book printed in magenta-to-green optical ink. A denomination registration device is built into the field, while Alberdi's portrait returns in the watermark beside the initials JBA. Blue, green, ochre and violet keep the large value visually controlled.
Reverse
The birthplace of Juan Bautista Alberdi in San Miguel de Tucumán occupies the reverse, its low domestic architecture presented as a site of national memory. The Argentine emblem and registration value balance the building within a restrained field. The quiet residence provides an intimate counterpoint to Alberdi's formal portrait.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, this first issue was introduced on 13 November 2024 with Santiago Bausili and Martín Menem signatures and Series A–O. The Chinese printing and blue windowed thread distinguish its production from Argentina's domestically printed wildlife notes. With no earlier signature variety, series and signatories establish a clear baseline for future issues.
