Mujibur Rahman and the National Martyrs' Monument lead to the historic Sixty Dome Mosque in a vivid green, yellow and red composition.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman appears beside the National Martyrs' Monument at Savar, framed by Bengali and English inscriptions. Green, yellow and red fields separate portrait, value and memorial without breaking the compact format. His portrait returns in a pixelated watermark beside the bank emblem and electrotype 20.

Reverse

The Sixty Dome Mosque at Bagerhat extends across the reverse, its many domes and brick arches set beneath bilingual text. The Bangladesh Bank emblem anchors the opposite side. A measured green palette allows the historic mosque to dominate while maintaining a clear visual relationship with the memorial and portrait on the face.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, the 2021 date introduces a green-to-purple windowed thread to this long-running design while retaining Fazle Kabir's signature. The Bengali prefix ঙফ identifies the recorded printing. Earlier dated forms use a holographic thread, so the colour-shifting strip is the most immediate attribution feature even before the serial prefix is read.
