ThemeReligious Heritage

A green-red portrait of Mujibur Rahman is paired with the Sixty Dome Mosque, carrying a familiar design into a new governor's term.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Martyrs' Monument at Savar share the face with bilingual bank text and strong twenty-taka values. Green, yellow and red underprinting gives the compact paper a layered surface. A pixelated portrait watermark includes the bank emblem and electrotype 20 beside the colour-shifting thread.

Reverse

Bagerhat's Sixty Dome Mosque fills the reverse with repeated domes, arches and long brick walls. Bengali and English inscriptions run around the architecture, while the Bangladesh Bank emblem closes the open side. The historic religious complex provides a calm, ordered counterpart to the paired portrait and memorial on the face.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, Abdur Rouf Talukder's signature and Bengali prefix চট identify this second 2022 form. The preceding printing of the same year still carries Fazle Kabir, so the governor's name is essential when separating them. Both retain the green-to-purple windowed thread introduced in 2021, leaving signature and prefix as the finer distinction.
