Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The National Academy of Sciences building in Minsk appears beside the denomination, serial number and Belarusian text. The composition gives the landmark room to read as architecture, while inscriptions and numerals complete the formal banknote field. Tones of violet unify the pictorial subject, lettering and repeated indicators of value.
Reverse
The Pahonia emblem shows an armoured horseman with raised sword and shield, surrounded by Belarusian text and denomination. The composition relies on the emblem’s strong silhouette, with lettering and value indicators organised around it. The composition remains readable by giving the imagery, typography and denomination separate areas of emphasis.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, P-11 is particularly useful as a date-context issue: the banknote carries a 1992 date, while its recorded introduction took place on 3 November 1993. That difference between the printed date and actual circulation date distinguishes it within Belarus’s early high-denomination sequence.
