Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The royal emblem is flanked by bja tshering, the mythical birds of long life, amid Dzongkha text and serial numbers. Official lettering and denomination figures reinforce the formal character of the emblem while preserving its heraldic clarity. The brown palette provides continuity between the illustration, typography and value numerals.
Reverse
Paro Rinpung Dzong is shown with Dzongkha and English text and the denomination. The composition gives the landmark room to read as architecture, while inscriptions and numerals complete the formal banknote field. The brown colour scheme links the main image with the note’s inscriptions and denomination figures.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, P-14b is the Dorji Tsering signature variety, recorded with prefixes C/3–C/5. Pick catalogues it as ND (1990), while TBB records the B203b introduction in 1994; the signature and prefix range are therefore the most direct identifiers of this variety.
