ThemeNational Symbols

The 1,000 Dinara of 1992 is a Banja Luka issue of the first Republika Srpska dinar, combining Serbian heraldry with the series’ distinctive stylized-vase reverse.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Grey and peach ornament frames the Serbian coat of arms, Cyrillic text and the 1,000-Dinara denomination. The composition relies on the emblem’s strong silhouette, with lettering and value indicators organised around it. A predominantly blue and gray treatment gives the imagery and official lettering a consistent visual register.

Reverse

On the reverse, Croatian text and a stylized vase are paired with the Serbian coat of arms, denomination and red serial number. The use of blue and gray creates a consistent ground for the illustration, official text and value figures.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, P-137/B105a is the regular prefix-AA form signed by Governor Milenko Vračar. TBB also records a replacement B105az with prefix ZA, so the prefix provides a direct way to distinguish ordinary circulation notes from replacements within this denomination.
