Red zeros and a circular Sarajevo handstamp reshape the guilloche front, while Stari Most continues to anchor the reverse.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

The P-10 guilloche front is modified by tall red zeros and a circular SARAJEVO handstamp dated 24.12.1993. A purple, red, and yellow palette carries from the principal motif into the surrounding typography and value markings. The pictorial element is anchored by Croatian inscriptions and repeated denomination markings.

Reverse

The unchanged P-10 reverse depicts Stari Most crossing the Neretva River in Mostar. The printed field uses purple, red, and yellow to bind the central imagery to the monetary text around it. The image is set among Croatian inscriptions and repeated value markings that identify the note’s monetary function.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, P-53h is the 24 December 1993 Sarajevo variety with tall red zeros. The underlying P-10 is a genuine circulation note, while The Banknote Book does not recognise the Sarajevo handstamp and added denomination as an official B135 variety. Its tall red zeros separate it from P-53g.
