Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The original P-10 guilloche design carries a diagonal NOVČANI BON / 100 000 / STO HILJADA DINARA overprint across the front. A predominantly purple, red, and yellow treatment gives the imagery and official lettering a consistent visual register. Croatian text runs through the surrounding field together with the note’s value numerals.
Reverse
Stari Most over the Neretva River remains visible beneath a matching diagonal 100,000-Dinara emergency overprint. Value numerals and inscriptions provide a formal edge to the scene while the landscape carries the visual narrative. Its purple, red, and yellow tonality carries evenly through the subject, inscriptions and denomination markings.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, P-34a is a catalogue-disputed emergency overprint dated 1 September 1993. The Banknote Book treats the diagonal 100,000-Dinara overprint as an official issue, while Numista classifies it as a non-genuine overprint. Both identify the underlying note as the 1992 P-10 10-Dinara issue.
