Croatia 10 Kuna 2012, P-38b, UNC

Warm Istrian colours carry Juraj Dobrila from his portrait to the Pula Arena and Motovun across a balanced horizontal design.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Juraj Dobrila faces inward beside the Croatian state emblem, framed by brown, orange, green and blue guilloche. The windowed security thread bears demetalized HRK 10 lettering, and the pale watermark area contains a second image of Dobrila. Boris Vujčić's signature fixes the issue within a later production period.

Reverse

Pula's Roman amphitheatre dominates the back with its sequence of monumental arches, while the ground plan of Motovun introduces the compact geometry of an Istrian hill town. The pairing moves between classical antiquity and the region's later urban fabric, held together by fine multicolour engraving.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, this printing is dated 9 July 2012 and was introduced on 18 March 2013. Boris Vujčić replaces Željko Rohatinski as signatory, while the recorded A/T to B/H prefix-suffix range continues beyond the earlier issue. The unchanged artwork makes date, signature and serial grouping the practical identification points.
