Sayyeda Aisha Mosque and Egypt’s eagle, surrounded by wheat, cotton and maize, anchor this compact violet-blue piastre design.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Sayyeda Aisha Mosque rises through violet, green and blue linework, with Arabic text and the twenty-five-piastre denomination distributed around its dome and minaret. The watermark reserve occupies a broad quiet area beside the architecture. Fine border patterns and compact serial placement preserve clarity despite the note's layered security design.

Reverse

Wheat, cotton and maize flank the Eagle of Salah El Din, creating a heraldic arrangement from Egypt's agricultural staples. English inscriptions and repeated values frame the central emblem, while cool guilloche echoes the face. The reverse reads simultaneously as a coat-of-arms display and a concise statement of cultivated abundance.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, the July 2008 note shares its Pick attribution with the December example but records a different point in the same production stage. Keeping both dates together turns an otherwise repeated design into a focused date-pair with a clear collecting logic. The pairing gives the date itself genuine catalog relevance.
