Three Ghanaian portraits face a rural bank scene, setting civic ideals of justice and equality beside community finance.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Wordsworth Odame Larbi, Fred Otoo and E. Kwasi Nukpor appear together in a purple portrait group. Above them, a clenched fist over a star carries the words JUSTICE and EQUALITY. English bank text and denomination figures complete the face, which was printed without a security thread or watermark.
Reverse
People approach and gather around a rural bank building, turning the reverse into a scene of local financial access. The compact architecture and moving figures are arranged beneath English text and large value numerals. Purple linework keeps the everyday setting connected to the formal portrait group and civic slogan on the front.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the date 15 May 1984, John Saka Addo signature and A/1 to C/1 prefixes define the sole regular variety. The absence of both watermark and security thread is correct for this denomination, not a missing feature. Replacement notes use Z/1, giving the fractional prefix an additional role in attribution.
