The 2019 1 Lempira retains the tactile Lempira-and-Copán format while recording a new three-official signature combination in the continuing P-96 series.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Lempira’s portrait and the Honduran coat of arms remain the visual focus, accompanied by the raised tactile bars and Braille denomination marks introduced with this series.
Reverse
The Copán archaeological scene again combines the ball court, stairway and Mayan monolith without a substantive redesign.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 20 June 2019 P-96 keeps the Polish Security Printing Works production and artwork of the 2016 issue but changes to Sig. 34 and FY–GA prefixes. Those are the decisive attribution details for the 2019 variety.
