Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Kurmanjan Datka, remembered as the Alai Tsaritsa, appears in an orange portrait beside Kyrgyz inscriptions and large denomination figures. Raised printing gives the likeness and lettering tactile presence. Her portrait also forms the watermark with an electrotype 50, while a RAPID HD Detect windowed thread introduces movement when the paper is tilted.

Reverse

The eleventh-century Uzgen architectural complex fills the back with its minaret, mausoleum and distant mountains. Full-bleed colour allows the masonry and surrounding landscape to reach the edges, producing a more immersive view than earlier series. An iridescent stripe carries the denomination and National Bank emblem across the historic setting.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, the note is dated 2023 but entered circulation on 15 February 2024 with Kubanychbek Bokontayev's signature. AA and AB prefixes define the recorded production. It belongs to the first low-denomination release of Kyrgyzstan's fifth series, where full-bleed printing and a micro-optic thread modernized familiar portrait-and-heritage subjects.
