Design & Symbolism
Obverse
A cedar tree and Arabic inscriptions sit within the denomination’s established geometric pattern, preserving the visual identity of the earlier 10,000-livre series. The printed field uses yellow, orange, and green to bind the central imagery to the monetary text around it.
Reverse
The Martyrs’ Square monument to three Lebanese nationalists stands against a stylized landscape and mountain, with cedar trees and French inscriptions completing the composition. The yellow, orange, and green colour scheme links the main image with the note’s inscriptions and denomination figures.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 2021 note shows the endurance of the Martyrs’ Square motif. Even as the series was refreshed, the denomination continued to carry the same memorial subject, making the continuity easy to follow across successive issues.
