From 500 tögrög upward, the series changes character: Chinggis Khaan replaces Sükhbaatar and the reverse shifts from grazing horses to a moving nomadic scene.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Chinggis Khaan is presented beside the Soyombo symbol and a mounted warrior rendered with a SPARK Orbital feature. The composition gives the denomination a more historical and monumental tone than the lower Sükhbaatar values. A controlled typographic framework holds the value and official text around the main illustrated feature.
Reverse
A village, ox-drawn yurt, horseman and camel stretch across the reverse, turning the note into a compact panorama of movement through the steppe. Human activity becomes as important as the landscape itself. Official text follows the available space around the imagery instead of cutting across its most important details.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, 500 tögrög is the point where the modern series changes its main historical figure: Sükhbaatar gives way to Chinggis Khaan, and the pastoral reverse becomes a broader scene of nomadic life.
