Warm brown engraving draws the crescent, star and Iqbal's tomb into a quiet dialogue between civic duty and poetic memory.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
A crescent and star form the principal motif, surrounded by Urdu lettering, denomination panels and compact geometric ornament in brown, light blue, orange and lilac. The design is intentionally economical: the national emblems carry the visual weight, while the serial number and Javed Talat's signature identify the issue.
Reverse
The tomb of poet and philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal anchors the reverse. Its red-sandstone form, set at Hazuri Bagh near Lahore's Badshahi Mosque, is rendered as a dignified memorial rather than a broad city view. The revised Urdu inscription below the bank name links the image to the ethic of lawful work.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, P-27l rewards attention to paper and prefix. This 1994 Javed Talat variety is printed on white paper, and its GM prefix belongs to the documented AD-HX range. It should not be confused with the brown-paper JC-prefix subvariety, making the substrate and prefix as important as the signature when attributing the note.
