Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Mohammed Ali Jinnah appears beside a stylised view of the State Bank of Pakistan headquarters in Karachi. Created by Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi through repeated calligraphic forms of the bank's Urdu name, the building image gives the front an artistic character beyond a conventional architectural vignette.
Reverse
Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah stands beside wind turbines and solar panels, joining the bank's equality message to its emphasis on renewable energy. English and Urdu text, the State Bank emblem and the anniversary wording are integrated into the blue, purple and green composition.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, this regular 2023 issue commemorates 75 years since the State Bank of Pakistan was founded. Jameel Ahmad’s signature and prefixes A–E identify the circulating variety. Although it shares its denomination with the related commemorative note, the blue palette and central-banking imagery establish it as a separate design within Pakistan’s modern series.
