Purple and green polymer fields frame Paraguay’s 2,000 Guaraníes as an educational note, centred on the Speratti sisters and civic youth imagery.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The obverse places Adela and Celsa Speratti at the right, their portraits set beside the large 2000 denomination, an open book motif, the round coat of arms with star and the emblem with lion and cap. The BCP registration device and pale multicolour underprint place the educators within a modern polymer design dedicated to learning and public formation.
Reverse
The reverse shows a parade of young men waving Paraguayan flags, framed by green ornamental borders and bilingual Spanish and Guaraní value text. The composition shifts from the educators’ portraits to a collective civic scene, linking education with public ceremony and national continuity.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, this 2011 polymer variety is notable for its prefix C, Canadian Bank Note Company printing and Villalba / Corvalán signature combination within the wider 2,000 Guaraníes Series A-E group. Its relevance also lies in the Guardian polymer substrate, absence of security thread, BCP clear-window feature and UV-visible activity shown in reference imagery.
