Design & Symbolism
Obverse
A tree and the Presidential Palace building in Khartoum form the main obverse subjects, surrounded by Arabic issuer and denomination text.
Reverse
A cultivated field of millet and sunflower plants stretches across the reverse beneath English text and the 5 Dinars denomination.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, P-51 is the lowest denomination of Sudan’s first dinar family, issued after the 1992 reform exchanged 10 Sudanese pounds for 1 dinar. Dated February 1993 and printed by De La Rue, it predates the shift of later denominations to Sudan Currency Printing Press.
