Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Rama X faces inward in Royal Thai Air Force uniform, set among green Thai text, the Royal Garuda and transparent polymer windows. Raised details preserve tactile recognition, while the colour-shifting lower window introduces movement. The established Series 17 portrait remains dominant despite the more active substrate.
Reverse
Rama I and Rama II continue the dynastic narrative in paired portraits, surrounded by green ornament that crosses printed and clear areas. The Royal Garuda and simulated thread provide vertical order, allowing the reverse to remain closely related to the paper predecessor while the polymer surface changes its interaction with light.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 2024 issue is separated from the first polymer release by the Srettha Thavisin and Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput signatures. It belongs to the later signature progression of the same twenty-baht polymer family, making the names beneath the portrait more decisive than the unchanged royal subjects. The full variety belongs in a signature-led Series 17 set.
