Rama X, Rama III and Rama IV return in blue polymer, where transparent windows recast a familiar royal sequence through light.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Rama X appears in Royal Thai Air Force uniform within a blue polymer field of Thai lettering and the Royal Garuda. Clear windows, raised print and a printed denomination thread are arranged around the portrait, preserving the hierarchy of the paper design while giving the surface a cleaner alternation of opacity and light.
Reverse
Rama III and Rama IV remain paired on the reverse, continuing the chronological survey of the Chakri dynasty. Blue ornament and transparent passages replace the uninterrupted paper ground, while the Royal Garuda keeps the design formally anchored. The royal portraits remain unchanged at the centre of the technological revision.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, this is Thailand's first circulating fifty-baht polymer issue, released on 21 November 2025 after the twenty-baht denomination had established the material in daily use. It retains the Series 17 portraits but changes substrate and security architecture. The Pichai Chunhavajira and Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput signatures identify the inaugural production stage.
