Red engraving brings together Suvorov's portrait and equestrian monument, while Bendery Fortress and a Russian military memorial shape the reverse.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Alexander Suvorov appears in portrait at left and as a mounted figure at right, giving the face two distinct references to the military commander. A large 25 occupies the centre within red ornamental work. The 2012 modification retains the 2007 design date, adds a 4.5 mm winged thread with demetallised PRB, and uses a watermark of Empress Catherine II with electrotype PRB.

Reverse

Bendery Fortress extends across the centre-right, its walls and towers paired with the memorial to Russian warriors at left. The denomination and large value numerals frame the two historical subjects, while the serial number occupies the upper margin. Red and pale pink linework unifies the fortress and monument without obscuring their different forms or commemorative roles.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, P-45b stands apart from the lower modified values in two useful ways. Its security thread is a wide 4.5 mm strip, and its watermark portrays Empress Catherine II rather than Suvorov. Together with the 2012 modification inscription, those features identify the later variety even when the shared 2007 design date and unchanged historical vignettes might suggest the original P-45a.
