Tawhida Ben Cheikh's portrait faces a reverse arrangement of pottery and Amazigh jewellery on this blue-toned ten-dinar note.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The physician's portrait stands at the right-centre, her face and jacket rendered in dark blue lines. A large 10 fills the left side below a circular security feature. Blue and light green geometric forms pass through the background, with warmer orange details around the lettering and the open watermark panel at the right.
Reverse
Pottery vessels and traditional Amazigh jewellery form a horizontal display across the middle of the note. Rounded ceramic bodies stand beside the smaller metal ornaments and their intricate outlines. Denomination numerals and a patterned blue field frame the objects on either side.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, Ben Cheikh connects this denomination with Tunisia's first female physician and her work in maternal health and family planning. Her portrait entered the banknote series in 2020. This 2025 printing retains that design with Abdessalem–Nouri signatures, giving the established medical portrait a further dated variety.
