Red engraving carries Atatürk toward Cahit Arf, where portraiture meets the concise visual language of modern mathematics.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Atatürk's portrait commands the right side within red and rose geometric ornament, accompanied by the crescent and star. The holographic stripe, denomination thread and pale watermark reserve create a sequence of vertical accents. Large corner numerals remain immediately legible without breaking the formal portrait-led hierarchy.
Reverse
Mathematician Cahit Arf appears beside the formula associated with the Arf invariant, placing an abstract mathematical contribution within the vocabulary of national portraiture. Fine red linework connects the equation to the portrait, while restrained surrounding motifs leave enough open space for the notation to remain readable.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, this sixth signature variety entered circulation on 27 April 2022 with Şahap Kavcıoğlu and Mustafa Duman. The unchanged design means the signature panel is the principal attribution point within the later E9 sequence. Its red palette also provides an immediate denomination cue beside the purple five and green twenty lira.
