ThemePortraits & People

Lesya Ukrainka’s portrait and Lubart’s Castle meet beneath a wartime slogan, pairing literary endurance with fortified place.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Poet Lesya Ukrainka is portrayed in pink and blue beside the trident, a stylized tree, wreath and colour-shifting waterlily. The organic motifs soften the formal portrait, while the windowed and solid security threads are absorbed into the broad modern layout.

Reverse

Trees and birds surround the Tower of Lubart’s Castle in Lutsk, with the inscription “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” set above. The medieval tower supplies a firm architectural counterweight to the movement of foliage and flight across the rest of the field.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, this 2026 issue extends the patriotic-inscription series to the 200-hryven denomination. Andriy Pyshnyy’s signature accompanies the established Lesya Ukrainka and Lubart’s Castle design, while the added reverse slogan provides the defining difference from the earlier regular version.
