Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Mykhailo Hrushevskyi appears amid violet, brown, blue and red layers, accompanied by the trident, a stylized flower, a mounted figure and banner. The portrait remains unchanged in emphasis, allowing continuity with the regular 50-hryven series to be immediately apparent.
Reverse
The former Ukrainian Central Council building in Kyiv is flanked by standing figures and overlaid with the words “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” The slogan brings present-day resonance to architecture already tied to Ukraine’s early parliamentary history.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 2024 note reuses the familiar Hrushevskyi and Central Council artwork but adds “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” on the reverse. Andriy Pyshnyy’s signature and the commemorative inscription separate it from the Kyrylo Shevchenko-signed circulation issue dated 2021.
