ThemeMilitary & Historical Events

The 500 Bolívares commemorative pairs three portraits of Simón Bolívar with the Rafael Urdaneta Bridge and the historic Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

The vertical orange, brown and green obverse presents three portraits of Simón Bolívar at different ages beneath radiant sun motifs. The denomination, country name, 12 June 2025 date, serial number and Guerra/Pérez signatures surround the portraits, with a BCV-on-Venezuela-map registration device.

Reverse

The Rafael Urdaneta cable-stayed bridge appears prominently at left, with a scene of the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo extending across the background. The Venezuelan coat of arms, bicentennial emblem, BCV registration element and 500 Bolívares denomination complete the reverse.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, P-121 in its 2025 form is the later signature stage of the 500 Bolívares Lake Maracaibo commemorative. The Guerra/Pérez pairing distinguishes it from the earlier Ortega/Hernández issue, allowing collectors to build the denomination by signature succession while preserving the same bicentennial theme and visual programme.
