ThemeGovernment

A gold 65 emblem, Ho Chi Minh's portrait and the State Bank headquarters turn this oversized note into a purpose-made record of national banking history.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Ho Chi Minh appears at right in red engraving, with the national coat of arms and a vertical Motion security thread arranged across the left. A gold SPARK emblem marks the 65th anniversary above the written value, while yellow and pale green ornament lightens the broad paper format. The governor's signature is printed near the lower left.

Reverse

The State Bank of Vietnam headquarters in Hanoi fills the reverse, its long facade framed by palms and anniversary inscriptions. Above the roofline, Thanh Giong rides through the design as a mythical folk hero. Patterns derived from the Ngoc Lu bronze drum extend around the building and connect the institutional subject to a much older visual tradition.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, P-125 was introduced on 6 May 2016 for the 65th anniversary of national banking in Vietnam and was not intended for circulation. It was sold as a numismatic product, either individually or with a commemorative cover. The large paper format, gold anniversary device and named governor's signature separate it clearly from the contemporary polymer currency series.
