An offshore platform spreads across the reverse, turning a compact yellow-brown note into a clear image of Vietnam's petroleum industry at sea.

Design & Symbolism

Obverse

Ho Chi Minh appears at right against yellow, brown and green polymer printing, with the national coat of arms set to the left of centre. A pale transparent window opens near the portrait, while geometric devices and repeated values draw the eye along the narrow format. The warm palette keeps the formal portrait closely tied to the industrial subject on the other side.

Reverse

Offshore oil platforms in the Bach Ho field extend across the reverse above open water. Derricks, decks and connecting structures form a dense horizontal silhouette, but the machinery remains easy to separate from the patterned ground. A transparent window interrupts the lower left area and adds a modern material contrast to the engraved industrial scene.

Collector’s Insight

For collectors, P-119h is the 2014-dated member of the 10,000-dong polymer type introduced in August 2006. Its individual Pick suffix places it within the earlier, more finely divided date sequence. The design also carries a persistent denomination error: the vertical value on the front omits the period normally used as the thousands separator in Vietnamese notation.
