A familiar portrait and oil-field panorama continue on a newly specified polymer, making material history as important as the unchanged artwork.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The face retains Ho Chi Minh at right beside the clear window, with the national coat of arms positioned across the patterned left field. Yellow, brown and green layers surround the denomination without obscuring the serial numbers or Vietnamese text. Curving security motifs soften the sharp rectangular values and the formal portrait engraving.
Reverse
Offshore oil platforms in the Bach Ho field stretch across the reverse in brown linework. Elevated decks, vertical towers and connecting structures build a continuous industrial horizon, while lighter water and guilloche patterns open the space beneath them. The transparent window is incorporated into the lower left rather than treated as a separate decorative panel.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 2024 issue is listed on PolySecure polymer within the long-lived 10,000-dong design. Because the portrait and Bạch Hổ reverse were retained, the documented substrate provides the clearest distinction from earlier dates. It creates a useful material-based comparison with the visually similar 2023 note in a chronological set.
