Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Ho Chi Minh's portrait stands at right in red-brown engraving beside the large transparent window. The national coat of arms and stylized flower occupy the left half, joined by the broad 50,000 value and fine radiating patterns. A smaller clear window near the upper corner and the simulated security thread add vertical accents to the wide face.
Reverse
Phu Van Lau pavilion and Nghenh Luong Dinh communal house are shown together in Hue, surrounded by trees and low landscape forms. Their tiered roofs and open timber structures are rendered in brown against pink and yellow underprinting. The placement allows both buildings to remain distinct while reading as part of the same historic riverside setting.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 2022 date is a late example of one of Vietnam’s first two regular polymer denominations, originally introduced on 17 December 2003. Its long production history makes dated examples useful for tracing the mature phase of the series. The paired Huế landmarks also give the type a strong architectural identity within the dated sequence.
