The aqua 10 Kwacha combines a fish eagle and musuku tree with a reverse showing a porcupine and workers harvesting rice in a field.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
Aqua and green security patterns place a fish eagle perched on a branch at right, balanced by the Zambian coat of arms, a dove and a musuku tree at left. English inscriptions and denomination numerals occupy the center, while a vertical thread and tactile diagonal lines provide strong upright accents within the upgraded design.
Reverse
A porcupine occupies the left wildlife panel, with workers harvesting a rice paddy across the central landscape. The Freedom Statue stands at right, completing the sequence of fauna, agriculture and national symbolism. Aqua-green guilloche patterns, denomination panels and a pale outer field frame the detailed rural scene and monument.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 2022 P-58 is B167c, the final dated variety of this 10 Kwacha design before the 2024 redesign. Because the same Pick number covers several dates, the CV/22–CZ/22 prefix range identifies the 2022 printing.
