Obverse
The obverse places boys picking tea leaves at the right, with the Burundi coat of arms above and French and Kirundi text anchoring the institutional frame. A purple Oberthur Iriseal OVI patch and holographic cattle head patch add a technical layer to the agricultural scene, joining rural labour with modern note protection.
Reverse
The reverse opens toward a lake and dam, using pale green and blue printing to move from cultivated fields to water infrastructure. The composition links landscape, resource control, and national development, while the bilingual text and denomination panels keep the scene within the formal authority of the Bank of the Republic of Burundi.
