Green and blue currents gather into a vertical field of steppe calm, giving the modern tenge a cool ceremonial weight.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The obverse is arranged vertically around the 2000 tenge denomination, with an antelope head in profile, the Tree of Life detail from the Golden Man’s headdress, a DNA spiral, the national emblem, and layered ornamental forms. The composition draws from Saka-style visual language, placing ancient nomadic imagery within Kazakhstan’s contemporary circulation design.
Reverse
The reverse presents four standing saiga antelope against hills and a lake set within the outline of an infinity ornament, with a stylized gold saiga ornament and circular Kazakh symbol integrated into the field. The scene shifts from archaeological reference to living steppe fauna, giving the denomination a strong ecological and cultural register.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 2024 2000 tenge issue belongs to Kazakhstan’s modern Saka style design, printed by the national banknote factory and signed by Timur Süleimenov. Within the new visual program, the saiga antelope gives this denomination an ecological and steppe-centered identity distinct from the lower value.
