Warm ochre and blue structure the vertical field with a dry, monumental calm.
Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The obverse is arranged vertically, with flying doves rising beside the Kazakh Eli monument in Astana, the OSCE building, the national emblem, the flag, and a SPARK security feature. The composition gives the denomination a formal civic scale, using architecture and state symbols to place the 1000 tenge within Kazakhstan’s modern vertical circulation design.
Reverse
The reverse opens across the Ustyurt Plateau, with mountains and landscape forms set inside an outline map of Kazakhstan. A wide StarChrome windowed security thread crosses the design, while layered ornament and territorial contours shift the note from civic monument to the vast geography of the state.
Collector’s Insight
For collectors, the 2014 1000 tenge issue belongs to Kazakhstan’s modern vertical circulation design and is distinguished as the later version without signature. Its importance lies in the way western topography, civic symbolism, and advanced security layout were fixed into a mature circulation type of the post-Soviet tenge.
